Greenacres is situated on the periphery of the village, on the right hand side of the A87 southern approach road from Broadford, immediately after the 30 mph restriction signs. It is a modern, apricot coloured, detached dormer house. Greenacres is a fifteen minute walk from the centre of Portree where a variety of amenities including a swimming pool, library, gift shops, supermarket, bakery, bars and restaurants can be found.
Water sports such as sailing, fishing, diving and water-skiing are also available on the island and two horse riding centres are situated near Portree. There are two golf courses fifteen minutes drive from Portree.
